Follow life in our ancient Hampshire woodland as we restore neglected coppice, produce Grown in Britain certified charcoal, create traditional woodland crafts and share the skills that keep Britain’s woodlands alive. Every season brings something different to the woodland. From cutting hazel and birch during the winter months to firing charcoal throughout spring, summer and autumn, there is always something happening here at #threecopsehq.
Alongside woodland management, we practise a range of traditional heritage crafts that help support the restoration of our ancient woodland. These include making besom brooms (often known as witches’ brooms), pole lathe turning, green woodworking and leatherwork—skills that have been closely connected with Britain’s woodlands for generations.

2026 has been a busy one so far!
In just 7 months we’ve fired 29 batches of our @growninbritain certified Hampshire lumpwood charcoal — all made from our own sustainably managed British woodland.
Every bag of British charcoal you choose does more than cook great food. It helps keep local woodlands in active management, supports traditional countryside skills, creates vital wildlife habitats, and protects these special places for future generations.

What does a day at Three Copse Woodland Products look like?
This morning we were checking dormouse boxes with Kelly, our qualified ecologist. This afternoon we were emptying two charcoal retorts.
It might seem like two completely different jobs, but they’re part of the same story.
By carefully managing our ancient woodland through traditional coppicing, we’re creating habitats for wildlife while producing Grown in Britain certified Hampshire lumpwood charcoal.
