Tree Identification and Uses

Being able to identify the diffent tree species present in a woodland or other site sis a key skill in being able to manage that site or at least undstand what you are seeing.

This Tree Identification and uses course is aimed at those working in woodland, Small woodland owners, and for anyone wanting to learn more about what they see on their woodland walks.

Depending on the time of year this course will include thing such as:

Identify trees in winter

    • use clues such as fallen leaves and discuss their
    • forestry,
    • craft
    • ecological uses.
    • pests and diseases

OR

Summer Identify trees using:

  • The leaves and fruits as well as the form of the trees
  • discuss their forestry,
  • craft
  • ecological uses.
  • pests and diseases

Food and refreshments

There will be an ample supply of tea/coffee on tap but no other food is provided, we can of course set up the bbq if requested.

Accommodation

There are a good number of local hotels and b and b’s in the area for which we can give you detail on application.
