Run by Bishop's Waltham Rotary Club this event has been running for a number of years. We are proud to have been invited to this successful show.
As with any show we arrived in plenty of time to set up and were met by the Rotary Club members who were very helpful. The day started out bright and sunny with a bit of a breeze.
Once the carnival arrived (which, due to the South American drum band, you could hear some way off), the show started. It was formally opened by South Today weather presenter Alexis Green.
There were lots of attractions including the classic car and motorbike lines, along with crafts, local interest , food, sweet and hat stalls as well as the WI selling tea and cakes.
People were enjoying the family atmosphere, and sales, although not huge, were going well until the rain came just after lunch. It was at this point that several members of the public took refuge under our tent, and I'm glad to say we made some sales.
It is unfortunate that the organizers were forced to call the event to a premature end around 3:30 as it was all for charity.
This is definately an event that we would like to support again.
