Three Copse Woodland Products

Hampshire charcoal

Our New Three Copse branded bags have now arrived and are starting to hit the shelfves of our outlets and the the doorsteps of our customers

We have proudly been producing Hampshire Branded Lumpwood charcoal for over 10 year now, from our Grown in Britain Certified ancient woodland here in the heart of the Hampshire downs.

For the 10 years we have been using our Ring kilns to produce our charcoal, 2018 saw the arrival of our Exeter Retort (Kiln) this has cut the production time from 2-3 days to 24 hours, meaning we can produce our high quality charcoal faster to keep up with the growing demand.
We can now say as seen on TV as it was used by Jamie Oliver on his Friday Night Feast food fight.

With the help of funding received from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development we now have a mobile retort kiln this has reduced the burn time to around 8 hours.

There are many reasons for buying British Lumpwood Charcoal. These include:

  • Easy to light
  • Ready to cook quickly
  • Can be topped up as you cook
  • Produces little ash
  • Contributes to sustaining local woodlands, local skills, and rural trade
  • Is not transported around the globe

By buying charcoal from your local producer you are helping to reduce your carbon footprint and you are putting money directly into the rural economy in your area, rather than putting more money into the supermarkets’ pockets.

Our charcoal is now Grown in Britain certified, this means you know it is coming from properly managed woodland, and infact we can tell you within an acre where your charcoal wood came from.

We sell both charcoal and Log sacks through a number of local shops.
